Week 04 - Nerf Gun Proxy and Beginning of High Res

 For this week in 3D Art, we were tasked with proxying the Nerf gun shown below. To supplement the assignment, we were given videos to follow along to help. Working on my capstone ended up messing up my time spent on this assignment and I will need to catch up this week when it comes to proxying the rest of the model.

VR Project Sprint 2 Deliverable

 For this sprint of the VR project, we have began asset creation. Per our art lead Vanna, we were assigned a due date of February 4th to have proxies in for major assets needed for our experience. Below I have images of references used to create the candy tin and umbrella.

3D Art II Week 02 - Karambit Knife Game Res and Bake




For this week, we were tasked with creating a game res low poly mesh for our knife from last week. Afterwards, we had to UV and bake. I had to go back and fix some issues with my knife from last week and still need to get around to fixing the back ring and clip. During my bake, it appears I decimated too much on the high poly and ended up with a bunch of artifacts showing. I still need to adjust areas such as the opacity trick for the smaller holes.

3D Art II Week 01 - Karambit Knife Proxy and High Res

 For the first assignment of this semester, we were tasked to create a combat knife such as the karambit knife. To focus more on practicing the pipeline and workflow, I opted to stick with the class suggested karambit knife rather than a different combat knife. The primary focus of this assignment is working with live booleans in Zbrush, however I plan on experimenting around in substance painter when it comes to the textures.

Cannon Project Week 15



For this week, we were tasked with continuing iterating on the environment proxy from last week to be prepared for industry review. I was able to bring the sculpt of the environment from Zbrush into Maya and quaddrew to create a game res mesh for baking in Substance Painter. Below is an initial pass of the textures applied in Unreal Engine 4. In the next few days, I hope to improve on the textures for the ground and grass as well and go back and fix some issues on my cannon textures. I also hope to apply water on in the molt area around the cannon as well as add some moss around the ground.
